Using EIPTool with SYSBIOS ISDK EtherNetIP Adapter Application

The article describes the quick checkout for the EtherNet/IP adapter on AM335x/AM437x platform. EtherNet/IP is an industrial networking standard that takes advantage of commercial off-the-shelf Ethernet communication chips and physical media. The EtherNet/IP uses an open protocol (CIP) at the application layer.
EIPTool which is available for free from Molex is used for this quick checkout, which will establish CIP connections and query or set CIP attributes.
Molex EIP Tool[edit]
1) The molex EIP tool can be downloaded from Molex Website and shall be extracted to Windows PC( Installation not required).
3) Launch EIP_Tools.exe
4) Proivide the IP Address of the adpater in the 'Station' text box
5) Click on Send List Identity request button. You can see the detected device in the middle window.
6) You can run other tests provided in the tool to test the application.
7) In Ethernet Link Test(Select Ethernet Link tab), two instances of Link object can be tested by selecting option 1 and 2 in the instance drop down box
8) Media Counters in Ethernet Link Test is not supported
9) Qos and DLR support is not enabled in the application.
