I installed Ubuntu 10.04 and downloaded the sdk to my "Downloads" directory. The install command you listed does not work. I get a permission denied. If I preceed it with "sudo" I get a command not found.

The installer does not work on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. When launching it, it dies without any message.

Reading above.. "Before running the SDK Installer, the SD Card from the EVM box needs to be mounted to your Linux Host PC (using a USB SD Card reader). The SDK Installer is found in the START_HERE partition of the SD card. "

What if you're using a Beagle and don't have an EVM? I downloaded the installer specific to the Beagle xM. Do I need to create an SD card with a START_HERE partition and place the installer there? There is a link in the chain that's missing in my understanding of this procedure. Why would that make a difference? (I created a VM with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS as this wiki suggests, rather than depend on a more recent version of Linux Mint. It made no difference.

Needed to use the 10.04 LTS and also this line: sudo apt-get install ia32-libs in order to run the install under my x86_64 version of Ubuntu.

Progress. Running the same apt-get command to get the ia32 libs under Linux Mint did not help me.
