Great descriptions, here's a few minor suggestions

- Downloading ubuntu image - Add note 'there is no need to burn a physical CD since you will later install from the .iso file on your disk

- install Vbox - you can ignore numerous duplicate warnings about the program being non MSFT approved

- Create a Vbox machine - when configuring storage, highlight the CD icon, at the CD/DVD Device: dropdown menu use the browse function (icon to right of window) to select path of the ubuntu .iso file you stored previously

- installing ubuntu on the virtual machine - at some point it will present a question "erase and use the entire disk" - be not afraid, this means it will install using up to the entire *virtual* disk you reserved, so select yes for that option

When it prompts for name to login - that's your <user> name. (suggested user/pw are user/useruser

Dont miss the note about removing the .iso file because otherwise it try to re-install at next boot

Please re-order Sections so that Install Guest Additions precedes Sharing Files. The mount operation will fail ("unknown filesystem type 'vboxsf'") if the additions are not present.

Please add more detail to the Install Guest Additions Section. Depending upon the initial display configuration, the Vbox toolbar with the Devices option may be invisible ( a screen shot of this step would be useful) Please add more specifics about locating and running the autorun.sh script.

Thanks, DMS

These suggestions refer to the section titled, 'Configurinng a Proxy in Ubuntu':

-On your host machine, open Internet Explorer. Go to, 'Tools', 'Internet Options', in the 'Connections' tab, click 'LAN settings'. Copy the proxy address shown.

-In Ubuntu, follow this wiki's 'Configuring a Proxy in Ubuntu' instructions with one exception: Instead of using the 'Manual proxy configuration' option, paste the proxy address into 'Automatic proxy configuration'.

Before attempting, ‘How to Read a USB SD Card Reader in VirtualBox', I suggest shutting down the Ubuntu machine, and restarting the host machine.

Be sure to get the 32-bit version of Ubuntu 10.04. Also the "Install Guest Additions" menu item did not seem to do anything for me so I followed the installation instructions here: http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch04.html.
