The command "make... menuconfig" when rebuilding the Kernel requires the libncurses5-dev package. To solve this in Ubuntu, I did an "apt-get install libncurses5-dev" and then I was able to successfully run "make...menuconfig". Just an FYI for users that might face the same issue.

Since this is the "Getting Started Guide", would there be a problem moving out the old outdated information?

It's confusing how things are numbered 1. 1. 1. 1. and then it says "you don't need to do step two if you're using > 3_10_00 ..." etc.

How about moving the old docs to a page like GSG:v3.10?

I would move it myself, but I don't want to and then have my changes reverted so I'd like to hear back first.
