TMS570 MDK Development Board with Development Kit Disk

The TMDX570 Microcontroller Development Kit (MDK) is a complete development environment designed to quickly begin application level code development on the TMS570 MCU. It includes the IEC61508 SIL3 certified TMS570LS20216 which has dual Cortex-R4F ARM CPU’s running in lockstep, 2MB of on-chip Flash, 160KB of RAM, and a enhanced set of peripheral modules.

The MDK includes a separate TMS570 CPU card with integrated XDS100v2 emulator so that no external JTAG emulator is required to get started. The CPU card plugs in to the IO card (also included in the MDK) which has generic sensor interfaces, Flexray/CAN/LIN transceivers, on-board touch screen LCD display, and access to the all the peripheral modules on the TMS570LS20216 device.

More information specific to the TMS570 Microcontroller family can be found on the TMS570 wiki page.

Board Headers[edit]

The MDK CPU card comes with depopulated header connections for accessing the DMM (Data Modification Module) and RTP (RAM Trace Port). RTP DMM 1.jpg

The DMM/RTP header part number is: AMP 2-5767004-2 and is available for purchase from Digi-Key.

Soldering Instructions[edit]

Due to the limited space between the RTP and DMM connectors, several steps should be followed when soldering the headers to the CPU card.

1) Remove the adjacent USB connector (USB1)

2) Remove the plastic notch from the end of both connectors
