StarterWare Integration Into RTOS
This page describes key care-abouts for integrating StarterWare examples into an Operating System environment.
StarterWare Integration With OS[edit]
- StarterWare examples are framed to demonstrate the capabilities of a peripheral. So all the basic configurations are added in the example. For example:
- Cache config
- Interrupt controller config
Hence, when the examples are integrated into an RTOS environment, these configurations must be removed, and RTOS APIs need to be called to configure them.
- StarterWare examples are written to work standalone. Hence the process sync, resource sharing, message passing etc. are not considered. While integrating into RTOS, these aspects need to be taken care of.
- Pinmux and clock configurations can be moved to a common place where the same is done for other peripherals
