SXVGA
The abbreviation SXVGA stands for the Super eXtended Video Graphics Array image dimension. For this label the width and height in pixels are defined to 1280x960. These dimensions are further called Quad VGA since width and height is twice that of the VGA resolution, thus the amount of pixels is four times the pixels of the VGA standard.
For some other resolutions the term is used as well, but these cases are somewhat inaccurate. Examples are:
- 1280x1024 (in fact this is SXGA or Super XGA; use case: a computer dictionary, supposed to a faulty insertion of the letter 'V' in the middle)
- 1400x1050 (in fact this is SXGA+; use case: laptop marketing)
