Linux by Degrees
This is an "as is" document meant for Linux newbies (like myself) who are more comfortable with Code Composer.

Presentation and Support Files
[edit]
3rd Version now updated for Community Linux (DaVinci_PSP_03.20.00.14), Code Composer V4/V5 on DA830/OMAP-L137/AM1808 EVM's.[edit]
The 3 .pdf's (split for filesize)
File:Linuxbydegreesda8x CommunityLinux TMDSOSKL137 25Jul2011 Part1a.pdf
File:Linuxbydegreesda8x CommunityLinux TMDSOSKL137 25Jul2011 Part1b.pdf
File:Linuxbydegreesda8x CommunityLinux TMDSOSKL137 19Jul2011 Part2.pdf
And 2 .zip's with images (split for filesize)
was mostly done on an OMAP-L137/TMS320C6747 Floating Point Starter Kit. I have now evolved to using VMWare Linux images over native WinXP. Archived much of the Montavista information for continuity. Much of the DevRocket functionality can be done with CCSv4/v5.
It has a bit more work with EASY boot.
Hopefully it helps you!
NOTE: ramdisk-base.gz is too large to post (3 Mbyte) in one file.
So you can download the following 3 files into a directory:
Rename ramdisk-base.gz.z01.zip to ramdisk-base.gz.z01 and rename ramdisk-base.gz.z02.zip to ramdisk-base.gz.z02
Unzip ramdisk-base.gz.zip (and WinZip should find the .z01 and .z02 files to give you a single 3 MByte ramdisk-base.gz.txt file)
Rename ramdisk-base.gz.txt to ramdisk-base.gz
Or you can extract from DaVinci-PSP-SDK-03.20.00.05.tgz in http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/psp/LinuxPSP/DaVinci_03_20/03_20_00_05/index_FDS.html as documented at: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/GSG:_Setting_up_OMAP-L1/AM1x_Target_File_System#Exporting_a_Shared_File_System_for_Target_Access
ramdisk-base.gz is at: \OMAP-L138_PSP_1_00_00_04\LSP\OMAP_L138_arm_1_00_00_04\DaVinci-PSP-SDK-03.20.00.05\images\fs
2nd Version used an OMAP-L137/TMS320C6747 Floating Point Starter Kit using LSP 2.20.00.03 and MontaVista Pro Version 5.0.[edit]
The 2 .pdf's (split for filesize)
File:Linuxbydegreesda8xprimusdskswtools013009Part1.ppt.pdf
File:Linuxbydegreesda8xprimusdskswtools013009Part2.ppt.pdf
It has a bit more work with DSPLINK. The DevRocket is not necessary but convenient.
Original version was done for using DVEVM/DVSDK 1.20.00.10 and MontaVista Pro Version 4.0.1[edit]
Again the 2 .pdf's were split for filesize:
File:Linuxbydegreesda8xswtools103108Part1.ppt.pdf
File:Linuxbydegreesda8xswtools103108Part2.ppt.pdf
It has a bit more work with Codec Engine.
