GSG:CCSv5.0 Download
IMPORTANT! This Getting Started Guide was designed to be used only with Code Composer Studio 5.0.x and pre-releases of 5.1.x.
Downloading Code Composer Studio[edit]
1. Right-click on the link below and open another window. Choose the desired Code Composer Studio v5 release:
- Important!
- CCSv5.0 is not intended for adoption in the MCU space (devices like c2000, MSP430, Stellaris)
- At this time it is not a direct replacement or upgrade for CCS v4 customers. CCSv4 will continue to be the recommended tool version for customers that require a full featured version of Code Composer Studio until the release of CCSv5.1.
- Prior to the release of CCSv5.0, AM37xx SDK customers were given a Preview Edition release of CCSv5.0. The Preview Edition release does not have any JTAG debug support and is based on Galileo SR2(Eclipse 3.5.2, CDT6.0.2). This product is no longer supported, and these customers will be upgraded to CCSv5.0 in Dec. 2010.
2. Clicking on the link of the desired version opens the my.ti.com registration page. Fill in the correct login information and click Log In.
3. The next page is the Export approval, which is required for this product. Fill in with the required information and hit Submit.
- Note: in some cases the approval is instantaneous and you will be sent to the download page directly, thus not requiring steps 4 and 5 below.
4. A message with the subject TI SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD: APPROVED - setup_CCS_5.x.x.xxxxx.zip will be sent to the provided e-mail address. This message contains a limited-time link to download the software.
- Important! Check the Junk or Spam folders in your Inbox, as the anti-spam protection system may not recognize it as coming from a valid source.
5. Click on the link and a browser window is opened to perform the download.
- As a safety feature, the browser may block the download and will show a small box at the top of the window. Click on it to allow the software to be downloaded properly.
6. After the download is complete, unzip the file <setup_CCS_5.x.x.xxxxx.zip> to a temporary directory and move on to the next section.
