Connecting to CCS[edit]
In order to use Code Composer Studio with the board:
- Connect the on-board emulation to the PC using the supplied USB cable
- To communicate with the OMAP-L138 EVM or eXperimenter Kit via Code Composer Studio, you will need to connect the included USB A to mini-B cable to the USB emulator port on the application baseboard and the development PC. This process is covered in detail in the kit's Quick Start Guide.
- As soon as the USB cable connects to the development PC, Windows should automatically recognize that new hardware has been connected and install the necessary drivers. Power on your development kit and continue with the next section.
- Launch Code Composer Studio as follows:
- Launch Code Composer Studio by locating the icon on your desktop for the appropriate SOM you have inserted into the development kit.
- The Code Composer Studio Setup application will launch. If you receive a “No target connected” message, click the “Debug” menu item and select “Connect.” (Hint: If you receive an error message when trying to connect, first make sure the SOM is correctly seated with the baseboard and try again.)
- Once connected, you should see output text in the bottom window.
Please see page How_to_connect_to_the_OMAP-L138/C6748_EVM_board_using_CCS? for more details.
