Component patches that are present in the EZSDK[edit]

The EZSDK comes with a set of pre-applied patches to several software components. These patches have been applied to fix issues discovered during EZSDK software validation, or update the components to match EZSDK configurations of memory and DDR speed.

All patches can be found in <software component directory>/patches

Software Component Patch Description Remarks
C6Accel C6Accel: Fix ti816x.cfg for EZSDK5.01 Multimedia Changes This patch ensures that the unit server does not use the second entry of the SharedRegion map.
C6Accel C6Accel app: Change Memory Configuration for Shared Regions This patch ensures that the application memory map matches the changes required for multimedia. Please see EZ_SDK_FAQ for memory map changes.
Codec Engine CE Examples: Update memory map for EZSDK Release This patch changes the memory map of the DSP server for Codec Engine examples. Please see EZ_SDK_FAQ for memory map changes.
Codec Engine CE Examples loadmodules: Update memory map for EZSDK Release This patch changes the memory map used in loadmodules.sh to match the patched examples. Please see EZ_SDK_FAQ for memory map changes.
Codec Engine CE Genserver: Update memory map for EZSDK Release This patch changes the memory map used by GenServer. Please see EZ_SDK_FAQ for memory map changes.
Syslink Syslink: Change Memory Map for EZSDK Release This patch changes the memory map of the Syslink sample applications. Please see EZ_SDK_FAQ for memory map changes.
Syslink Syslink: Avoid clearing extra bits when loading This patch is a temporary fix for customer issue reported that PCIe is reset when Graphics is loaded. This patch ensures that PCIe is not accidently reset.
PSP Linux-2.6.37 fbdev: Remove I2C Initialization Due to a limitation with the HDVPSS Firmware, external video capture is only supported through the TVP7002 video decoder via I2C1. This patch is a workaround to enable video capture.
PSP U-boot-2010.06 TI816x: Add default support for 800Mhz By default PSP support 400Mhz DDR3 due to a stability issues seen on a few EVMs. For Multimedia operations 800Mhz DDR3 is needed and hence this patch is applied. The software has been validated on several boards to ensure that stability issues are not seen.

EZSDK 5.01.01.80 Errata[edit]

This is a list of issues that are present in the EZSDK release. This list includes the issues noted in the release notes and other issues reported post-release.

  1. SDOCM00073168 - If Installation is cancelled before completion, the SDK installer corrupts the host pc filesytem. Workaround - Allow the installer to complete and delete the installed files after completion. This will be fixed in the next release.
  2. SDOCM00078655 - USB mouse devices are not always recognized on bootup on DDR3 EVM. Workaround - The board needs to be power cycled by holding down the reset button for a five seconds.
  3. SDOCM00081333 - On first run of the 1080p60 Encode/Decode demo, a blank screen is seen for a couple of seconds before video starts
  4. SDOCM00075315 - Blitrix samples do not run as touchscreen is not yet integrated. These will be addressed in a future release.
  5. SDOCM00080848 - syslink ringio sample application fails
  6. SDOCM00080904 - Demo doesn’t start from same frame when demo is restarted
  7. SDOCM00081507 - The GUI installer incorrectly shows errors when completing the installation. The errors shown are incorrect and will be corrected in the next release.
