DMSoC

The term DMSoC got combined from the abbreviations DM and SoC and stands for Digital Media System-on-Chip. This term can be found appended to many processor names from Texas Instruments.

It describes a controller alike system that can run out of its own without using devices on external busses (even if beeing extensible via some bus system) used by TI for digital multi media purposes. The only peripherals extern to such a device are the power supply, the boot data source and some application specific interfaces like video encoders, level shifters, push buttons or LEDs.
