Introduction[edit]

This category shows pages related to the Multichannel Buffered Serial Port (McBSP) on C28x processors.

The McBSP is used to connect to E1/T1 lines, phone-quality codecs for modem applications or high-quality stereo-quality Audio DAC devices. Depending on the device, the McBSP receive and transmit registers are supported by a 16-level FIFO or by a DMA. This significantly reduces the overhead for servicing this peripheral.
