General Description[edit]
TIWi LSR module is an Integrated Transceiver Module for WLAN and Bluetooth. It is a high performance 2.4GHz IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR radio with a cost effective, pre-certified footprint.
- IEEE 802.11 b,g,n,d,e,i compliant
- Supports Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, with extended range output power
- Module size is 18mm x 13mm x 1.9mm
Typical SW modification needed when using different HW[edit]
The WLAN portion of the WL1271 interfaces with the Host platform via the following signals:
- SDIO lines (SDIO_D0 - SDIO_D3, SDIO_CMD, SDIO_CLK)
- WLAN interrupt request line (WLAN_IRQ)
- WLAN enable/Disable signal (WL_EN)
Typical SW modification needed
- The Module SDIO lines will be connected to the Host SDIO bus as such there is no special modifications needed to be done as the host specific bus will be defined by the SDIO driver.
- WLAN interrupt and WLAN enable/disable signals are connected to Host GPIO’s as such the WLAN Driver GPIO setting will need to be updated per different HW configuration
For example for OMAP3530 the GPIO configuration is defined in /WiLink\platforms\hw\host_platform_omap3530\linux\host_platform.h file
PMENA_GPIO is defined as GPIO 150
IRQ_GPIO is defined as GPIO 149
- Fast Clock –
The difference of the Fast clock configuration is depends on Fast clock supply and frequency, the Fast clock configuration is defined in tiwlan.ini file that is located in WiLink\platforms\os\linux folder, and is defined by STRFRefClock registry key.
